How to classify veneer, padded board?
Once upon a time when I first worked on exporting veneers - veneers (known simply as traders) I had a Chinese man who set up a wood peeling workshop in Vietnam to show me what type A, B, and B type were. C. Actually, for each customer, each person has different views on product quality, especially for foreign customers. However, when we quote to customers, we need to explain to them the quality of our products along with the price. This is the basis for comparing the quality when delivering goods to customers. According to AAWOOD Co., Ltd., we will divide the filler board (layer board) into 3 types as follows:
Grade A plywood.
First of all, the standard size must be met according to the customer's order requirements, for example, if the customer orders 1270 x 640 x 1.7mm, then we must ensure the length of the board is 1270mm, the width is 640mm, and the thickness is 1.7mm. The plank must be cut straight, without sagging. If the dimensions are not met, the plank is considered to be class A.
Living eyes and dead eyes on the plank: With the characteristics of group VIII wood, which is a tree with many branches, it is inevitable that there will be living eyes and dead eyes on a plank. On a Class A board, the dead eye is no more than 2cm wide, and the live eye is no more than 3cm. During packing and shipping, dead eyes may come off and form small holes in the board.
On the A-class board, it is not accepted that the holes caused by the bark or the impact from the outside create the holes.
On the board must not be stamped head and , the surface of the board must be smooth.
Boards must not have yellow mold, because this type of mold will develop very quickly when the boards are stacked and bundled in bundles. This type of mold will directly affect the quality of plywood sheets.
In order for the board to achieve a beautiful grade A, in addition to ensuring the above factors, we will have to ensure that the peeling process must be seamless, the cut wood should be peeled off immediately, the peeled board should be exposed to the sun or dried, Avoid leaving for a long time, the plastic will melt, leading to a bad color of the board. However, do not dry the board too dry, it will warp and lose the flexibility of the board. According to the Chinese, they often dry the boards naturally in the style of one mist, one sunshine to ensure the best flexibility as well as the best quality of boards. However, Vietnam's climate is erratic with rain and sun, so we often can't guarantee that, so the quality of our boards is not as appreciated by international customers as China's.
Grade A plywood we usually export to countries such as India, Indonesia, Korea, Japan, and only a few factories that make high quality plywood products use grade A plywood as raw material for production. plywood export.
About packing for customers: We usually arrange the padding in bundles, each bundle is 20 sheets. When exporting goods to foreign customers, they will be placed directly into the container one by one, so that it will be about 46-48m3 per container. However, there are also some customers who require pallet packing, usually 9 pallets per container (42m3/conts), pallet packing costs more and the quantity is less.
Faced with the risk of raw materials being exhausted, the government has taken strong measures such as applying an export tax of 5% on FOB prices. However, Vietnamese people because of greed for immediate benefits have declared to reduce the price of plywood to avoid paying a lot of tax. Most recently, plywood products have been imposed a minimum price of 200usd/m3 by the government. This is a huge disadvantage for businesses that are producing and exporting this item.
Padded board type B
As boards that do not meet the standards to qualify for class A board, type B, however, it also has its own requirements:
The plank must absolutely not stick to the bark
There must be no holes larger than 7cm on the board and no more than 3 holes on the board.
We can join 2 pieces of padded board together and glue it back to ensure the width of the board according to the customer's request.
